The Whitman High School Education Foundation (WHSEF) is an independent non-profit organization that relies on annual donations from the Whitman community to support its work on behalf of Walt Whitman High School students and staff.   (EIN 202838800)

Honor a Student or Staff Member Through a Gift

You may honor a student, teacher, counselor, staff member, or others by donating in their name. We will gratefully send an acknowledgement to the honoree.  You may make a donation in someone's honor either online (see above link) or via check.  If paying by check, please include an enclosure with the name of the honoree, the honoree's email address, and your email (for donation confirmation).


Employer Matching Donation

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees and/or spouses. The impact of your gift to the WHSEF may be doubled or possibly tripled.  If applicable, request a matching gift form from your employer.

What WHSEF has already funded this school year (as of October 2021):

  • 20 DSLR cameras for AP Photography, Digital Art and the Whitman Yearbook staff

  • Furniture, equipment and decor for the new World Language Cafe - a unique space on campus for all language learners to practice their language skills in a relaxed atmosphere and for proficient speakers to share their knowledge and culture

  • 5 PCR thermal cyclers and electrophoresis kits for AP Biology/ Molecular Biology/ Environmental Science/ Forensic labs

  • Stipends for teacher work on Whitman website and Innovation/Makerspace lab

  • Professional development course for AP World History

  • Padlet subscription for use of entire Whitman staff
