How You Help Us Help Whitman

Thanks to the generous support of the Whitman families and other friends of the school, the Whitman High School Education Foundation helps maintain the excellence of the Whitman experience by awarding grants to respond to unmet needs of the school.

Your contributions make the foundation’s work possible and positively impact the lives of Whitman students and staff every day.

  • TV soundbars for science classes

  • USB writing tablets for use in distance learning

  • Touchscreen chromebooks for use by students with

Instructional/ Classroom / Program Support

  • Support staffing of math work room

  • Machinery and equipment for Science and Engineering classes

  • Materials for Physics labs

  • Gift cards for Special Education classes to support student social emotional goals

  • New Percussion equipment for all band and orchestra classes

  • Replaced old chalkboards with new dry erase boards in all classrooms

  • New musical instruments for student led club supporting Special Education

  • Support for Best Buddies program chaperones

 

Facilities Improvements / Equipment

  • Enhanced sound system for the auditorium

  • Replacement of broken weight room equipment for Physical Education classes

  • Modular classroom furniture designed to stimulate learning, collaboration, and strengthen peer-to-peer relationships

  • New scooters and storage cart for adapted Physical Education classes

 

Professional Development

  • Staff professional development opportunities in the areas of foreign language and AP science instruction for Environmental Science, Biology, and Physics
